Good that you mentioned in the notes about using the phone as model as well. That's what I have done on my last 3 visits to Nigeria. One of my phones (treo 750) has the 2100 band used in Nigeria, so I just sign up for the 500 naira daily plan on the days I need it. It worked out quite well on all occasions. Nice write up.
