Last week, Spacefon Areeba unveiled a new service called Spacefon Areeba Unit Transfer and this week, ONEtouch GSM also launched a very similar service called ONEtouch Mini top-up. Though the services are similar, there are differences in price and validity period.
The tables below display the rates and validity period of each service. The information is correct as at time of writing. (12 August 2005).
| Units | Price (cedis) | Validity Period |
| 20 | 6,000 | 1 Day |
| 40 | 12,000 | 2 Days |
| 60 | 18,000 | 3 Days |
| 80 | 24,000 | 4 Days |
| 100 | 30,000 | 5 Days |
| Denomination | Validity Period (days) | Grace Period (days) |
| c5,000 | 2 | 3 |
| c10,000 | 5 | 5 |
| c20,000 | 10 | 5 |
| c30,000 | 20 | 10 |
The price differences are obvious. Areeba's pricing is a little higher than that of ONEtouch. In addition, ONEtouch offers grace period, unlike Areeba.
In essence, both services allows subscribers to either networks to top-up their accounts with a minimal amount.
