Useful tips for using mobile phones.

Better to be safe than sorry!
Mobile phones have become part of our everyday lives, with more than a billion people connected by mobiles today. We should however possess correct mobile phone etiquette, some of which are outlined below:

Social Situations
Being with someone who is constantly calling or texting someone else can be frustrating and even rude. Be considerate of others and keep calls or texts short and to the point when socializing, or, if appropriate, involve those around you in the conversation.

The workplace
There is a wide range of different rules regarding use of mobile phones in workplaces. In some cases it might be a good idea to lower the volume of your ring tone, or turn the phone to silent and/or vibrate to avoid disrupting people around you.

Aircraft
Aircrafts contain electronic devices, some of which may be sensitive to interference. As you will almost certainly be reminded by the cabin crew, you should switch off your mobile phone before take off.

Hospitals
People are asked to switch off in some areas of hospitals as a precaution to avoid interference with sensitive equipment. If in doubt, the best approach is to keep your mobile phone switched off whenever you visit a hospital or other medical facility.

Text messaging
As well as being a quick and economical way for consumers to stay in touch, text messaging is increasingly being used as a discreet and versatile business tool. However, it makes sense to restrict business texting to practical matters, such as confirming a meeting. Longer conversations by text are time consuming and if you have something important or complex to communicate, a voice call is often better.

Driving Safety
Never ever talk on your mobile when you are driving. It is both dangerous and illegal. Use your Voice Mail Service while driving by switching off your mobile phone - You can later return the calls at a safe and appropriate time. Even with hands-free operation it is essential that you should be a careful driver and give priority to concentrating on your driving. Remember that using a mobile phone whilst driving can at any time distract your attention from the road.
