Calling Line Identification (CLI)
Definition: The number of the person calling you is displayed on your phone so you can choose whether or not to answer the call. Some sophisticated systems, pre-programmed with the identity of certain numbers, will display the name of the caller instead. Bear in mind that not all numbers can be displayed. Some phones have the option to withhold your number when you make a call, this is known as Calling Line Identity Restriction (CLIR). To use this service, it must be supported by your network and by your phone. You may also have to add this service to your subscription
