Circuit Switching
Definition: Circuit Switched Service is a data transfer communication service which applies circuit switching for each call. This establishes a circuit (or continuous link) between the caller and the other party which is disconnected when the call is finished. Most traditional public telephone networks are circuit switched - the line remains open between the caller and the person receiving the call for the entire call. (See also packet switching.)
