Apparently in its usual character of introducing latest technologies in the fixed wireless telecom business in the country, pioneer telecom company, Multilinks Nigeria, says it has decided to broaden its horizon beyond its Lagos base, to the ancient town of Ibadan where it is expected to affect the people positively with its bouquet of services.

This is even as the company expressed excitement at the much expected unified licensing scheme the government promised to introduce into the telecom sector, promising to ride on its back to roll out massively across the country.

The company is expected to introduce specific communication solutions that would meet the individual and corporate communication needs for both Internet and Voice, even as it plans to introduce special schemes for students, youths and communities in the ancient City.

Commenting on the plans, Executive Director of the company, Chief Ezekiel Fatoye, regretted that the move was even coming belatedly, considering that his company was supposed to have offered its services to people outside of Lagos much sooner than now that it was planning to do so.

He however added that there was an objective that led to the delay, saying “we wanted to make our technological base exceptionally sound before we take it to National. Today we are sure of offering the same excellent quality of service and network that our subscribers in Lagos are so used to. We believe that our brothers in Ibadan don’t deserve anything lesser. Very soon they will be able to afford world-class telecom and Internet services at a price that is only a fraction of what the GSM companies offer. Our objective is quite clear – Premium services at affordable prices. That is the positioning that we have taken and we will deliver accordingly. In other words, we strive to make business and personal communication purposeful and more affordable through the introduction of innovations and value additions in terms of overall service and emerging technologies”

Fatoye noted that his company was not going to ignore the huge potential that modern marketing offers as it was poised to remain a visible and available brand, with overwhelming emphasis on quality.

Disclosing plans of expansion, he revealed that Ibadan would be an important milestone for the company, as subscribers would, within a very short time, be able to access its services in Abuja, Ilorin, Ogbomosho, Oyo, Abeokuta, Oshogbo, Akure, Ilesha and Shagamu. He added that once the unified licensing regime comes in, Multilinks sevices would be available in many more cities, towns and highways.

The company also said it would soon launch the COM verse IN, a billing platform that could give its subscriber base unparalleled flexibility, as well as offering VPN services, Closed user Group facilities, Friends and Family and a host of other Corporate and individual services that could take its telecom experiences to a different level. With a plan of commissioning more dedicated bandwidth, Multilinks said it would be offering broadband and Wi Fi services through the commissioning of revolutionary technologies that have the capacity to bring in a paradigm shift in ways that people communicate, including innovative bundling of voice, video, and data services and higher network transmission speeds with lower latency to ensure the highest quality user experiences for gaming, music, VOIP, Push to Talk etc.

Making use of its 3G networks platform, the company is partnering with Content providers to help them drive their vision of providing optimum services for its subscribers. Meanwhile the company said it has already laid and tested OFC in the Lagos-Ibadan sector and that soon the OFC will extend 3000kms across the country along the Federal Expressways, Highways and Rail routes reducing dependency on outside factors and establishing a self contained network that will reduce overall customer expenditure while increasing efficiency and robustness manifolds.

In respect of the prime position Lagos has given the company it is also upgrading its capacities in Lagos with the commissioning of more Cell Sites and equipment that will preserve and enhance its services and give subscribers the very best.

Besides being the first Private Telecom Operator in the country and contributed to the Telecom revolution that has since swept through the sector,Multi Links was the first to introduce 3G ready Millenium X CDMA network not only in Lagos, but in the whole of Africa.
