Vodafone Group Adds 4.5 Mln Customers

In the quarter ended 30 June, Vodafone Group reported organic proportionate mobile revenue growth of 6.4 percent compared with the same quarter last year.
As a result, Vodafone continues to expect organic growth in proportionate mobile revenue for the full year to be in the 5 percent to 6.5 percent range. On a statutory basis, growth in total revenue was 9.2 percent, with organic mobile service revenue growth of 4.5 percent. The group added 4.5 million new customers, representing annualised quarterly growth in customers of 10.6 percent. The Telsim acquisition added a further 11.7 million. The total Vodafone Group customer base now stands at 186.8 million. 3G sales were in line with the company's expectations, with 1.3 million net additions. This brings the total at the end of June to 9.1 million, including 8.2 million consumer devices. Vodafone's 3G net additions in the quarter are over 90 percent higher than recorded in the same quarter last year. Data revenue growth for the group's mobile businesses was 40.2 percent, compared with the same quarter last year. Furthermore, over 7 million customers have registered for Vodafone Passport.
