Celtel Introduces First GPRS/EDGE Service In Tanzania With New Celtel Access Service

The service employs GRPS/EDGE technology that enables data connections significantly faster than dial up and traditional GSM. Explaining further about the service, Celtel Tanzania Marketing Director Margaret Kositany said, “The new service is easy to set up and maintain as it does not require changes to your company’s current infrastructure and systems.” She said adding that for browsing the Internet with via Celtel Access service customers will be charged 1.38 Tshs per Kilobyte of data. Heavy Internet users can enjoy monthly subscription service of 46,000 Tshs for 100 Megabytes of data for the first two months.there after they will be charged Tshs 46,000 for 50 Megabytes of data.
