Harris TRuepoint radios will be used to construct a new network backbone, metro rings and access links connecting MTN Zambia's national GSM network. The new links will enhance capacity for the cellular links around Zambia's capital city, Lusaka, and one of its largest commercial towns, Kitwe. The 155 mbit backbone will be constructed to allow for upgradeability and doubling of capacity as demands for voice and data services grow. This link will form the first stage of a wider project to interconnect the towns and cities of Zambia.
