Cross River SSG Commends Adenuga As Gloworld Opens In Calabar

The Secretary to the Cross River State Government, Chief Johnson Ebokpo, has commended Globacom Chairman, Chief Mike Adenuga jr. for his foresight and people-friendly outlook in bringing telephony from the elite club to the generality of the people by initiating the per second billing option.

Glo Mobile NigeriaEbokpo was speaking, Thursday, while opening Globacoms state-of-the arts customer interface centre in Calabar, capital of Cross River state.

He sad further that the coming of Globacom as a people-oriented network, has made the world a truly global village, having made communications easy with the network reaching even the most remote villages in Cross River State.

Ebokpo led a delegation of government officials to the opening ceremony. After cutting the tape to open the hi-tech facility, Ebokpo became the first customer to be served at the hi-tech centre, followed by Chief Linus Okom, the Ada Bekwarra, and Dr. Phillip Obaji, Permanent Secretary, Cross River State Ministry of Health.

According to Ebokpo, the opening of Gloworld in Calabar has brought Globacom even closer to the people saying the state has been waiting for Globacom to open its office and outlet in the state. He noted that calabar has a soft spot for Globacom because it is a home grown telecoms company.

The SSG also announced that the state government has initiated moves to partner with the network as the official telecoms service provider. He expressed hope that the bringing of Globacoms official interface organ to Calabar would facilitate such collaboration.

Explaining the concept of the Gloworld to the audience at the opening ceremony, Managing Director of Gloworld, Miss Shade Boyede said that Globacoms plan is to open the outlet cum customer care centre in every state of the federation, thereby positioning the company so that its teeming customers all over the nation do not have to travel far, either to access its quality products and services or to resolve complaints.

She went on to list some of the value added benefits of the Glo network as Glo Me2u, the airtime sharing service, Multi Media messaging Service, Glo Mobile Internet, Glo Direct and Magic Plus.
