Starcomms, Nigeria’s leading 3G CDMA operator, will be opening three new Service Centres in various locations across Lagos between Friday, June 28 and first week of August, 2006. The Shops, which will be known as Starcomms Shops, are located in Apapa, Egbe and Alaba International market.
Mr. Prakash Pantham, Starcomms’ Commercial Director said that the Shops are meant to bring the company’s products and services closer to both its existing and prospective subscribers. He added that the opening of the Shops and other innovations from the company were designed to improve service delivery to its subscribers.
‘’We are determined to make our products available so that more people can take advantage of the unparalleled services that Starcomms offers. That is why we decided to add these three new shops to the existing ones and we plan to add more in the near future”, Mr. Pantham said.
Starcomms, with over 350,000 subscribers on its network has invested heavily in initiatives designed to bring its services closer to its customers. Only last year, the company opened six Starpoint Shops, a franchise scheme in conjunction with selected dealers.
Over the last three years, Starcomms has been recognized by industry experts as the leading telecommunications service provider, offering both fixed and mobile voice and data services to the Nigerian market. It recently launched its mobile broadband internet access service, which is a CDMA 2000 1X EV-DO powered technology and the first deployment of its kind in West Africa. The EV-DO is also currently being deployed in the United States and it provides wireless access to the Internet at speeds of 400-800kbps.
