i2, the region's largest and most diverse mobile distributor, has been voted by Nokia North and West Africa (NWA) as 'Best Distributor for Nokia NWE'.
i2 Egypt was the official recipient of the award in a vote that took place in Tunisia, as part of Nokia's new
initiative to recognise distinguished distributors bi-annually, said a spokesman.
i2 has previously received recognition from Nokia, as they were voted 'Best Overall Marketing Distributor 2005' for Nokia in the Middle East, and will continue striving to assert themselves in the eyes of their partners, customers and stakeholders.
"i2 was chosen among all Nokia distributors in North and East Africa, which is a great accomplishment for everyone at i2," said CEO of i2 Abdul Hameed Al Sunaid.
The committee of Nokia NWA management granted the award based on an evaluation of the company's retail network, marketing, sales, customer care, distribution and logistics.
Like the Middle East, Africa is a key market for i2. The African continent has a compounded annual growth of 22.2 per cent and industry experts expect that mobile subscribers will reach 378.62 million in 2011, taking the mobile penetration rate from 14.3pc to approximately 41.8pc, a significant increase with ample room for growth.
"We have worked very hard to expand our operational network in Africa, while simultaneously strengthening our position in each market. This award is the reassurance we need to justify our hard work," explained vice-president, Africa - i2 Group, Bashar Al Kadhi.
i2 recently announced the expansion of its operational network to 20 locations, with the addition of Tunisia, Senegal and the Ivory Coast.TradeArabia News Service.
