Standard Trust Bank Introduces "TextMe Cash"

Standard Trust Bank on Tuesday introduced a new product that would enable customers transfer monies to their loved ones through text messages.

A mobile phone userIt is designed to enable customers to transfer cash by text from their phone to the phone of the recipient who instantly picks up the cash from any of the Bank's offices.

Receivers of the text messages would be given a code by senders to enable them to access the monies from the bank.

The product dubbed: 'TextMe Cash' is an electronic product to facilitate easy transfer of cash through mobile phones from a Standard Trust Customer to any recipient.

The product, designed for all mobile phone users enables receivers to instantly pick up cash from any of the bank's offices in Accra, Tema, Kumasi and Takoradi.

Mr Obeahon Ohiwerei, Managing Director of the Bank, said the product was introduced to make banking easier and more convenient for the customer.

'Customers of our bank can now conduct banking transactions without necessarily having to visit the bank's premises. Thus from the comfort of our homes and offices, one can now transfer money anywhere in the country without regard to banking hours,' he said.

He noted that the product was available seven days a week but those who transferred the money were required to be customers of the bank. Mr Ohiwerei said customers of the bank, people with mobile phones, students in tertiary institutions, busy people, entrepreneurs, parents and guardians were targets for the new product.

'TextMe Cash product is revolutionary on the banking scene', he said, and urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the unique opportunity and open accounts with the bank.
