The Atlantic Wireless Liberia Incorporated (AWLI)/LiberCell will today, November 21, officially launch the General Packet Radio Signal (GPRS), EDGE and MMS on its cellular network.

The new technology will enable LiberCell subscribers to have full access to wireless Internet via their mobile phone and computer at anytime, anywhere at work, home, in the street, on the highway or at any occasion.

The Enhance Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) enables LiberCell subscriber to connect three times faster to the Internet and will eliminate any delay often experienced having access to other Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

The Multi-Media Messaging Service (MMS) enables subscriber to exchange multi-media messages including pictures with other mobile phones in a revolutionary manner that greatly surpasses the simple SMS transmissions. LiberCell subscribers will be able to transmit text, picture, audio, video or a combination of all these at a very high speed.

The MMS will also help LiberCell subscribers to have access to up-to-the minute latest local and international news, and daily news bulletin. You can entertain yourself and have fun with love ones and mates by accessing our Daily Horoscope and "Compatibility Percentages."

AWLI/LiberCell was established in 1999 as an analogue mobile phone company, primarily to help bridge the looming communication gap in Liberia after years of civil conflict.

Like most contemporary mobile phone companies in Africa, AWLI is providing mobile phone users in Liberia, the most reliable and affordable wireless technology in telecommunications.

After obtaining a GSM License in 2003, AWLI now operates a modern service providing mobile phone service at affordable cost to the majority of users in Liberia.

LiberCell's commitment to make the service available at the most reasonable affordable price saw the reduction in the prices of SIM cards and calls per minute.

AWLI/LiberCell can boast of being the first to have extended mobile phone services to rural Liberia

Its continuous commitment to maintain the lead in the mobile phone industry in Liberia will witness the launching today of the latest state-of-the-art Technology in Liberia, being the third African country with South Africa and Tanzania to provide such services for their people.
