Jubilee Year Mobile Ghana Conference

Africa Next Knowledge Brokerage and Interaction (ANKBI), the successor organization to the Technology Assessment Project (TAP), and the Center for Information and Communication Technology of the Technical University of DenmarK, in association with the Institute for Democratic Governance, MMRS Ogilvy and DataCenta Ltd, would organize the Jubilee Year edition of the Mobile Ghana conference on November 14, 2007. The conference would run, principally, on two tracks: urban-rural differences in access and utilization of mobile telephony and the promise of a data-centric mobile telephony in Ghana. The conference would also serve as part of the final processes of validating the major research stream of the Technology Assessment Project on the Empirics of Universal Access for Evidence-Based policy in Ghana which was launched at Abura Dunkwa on November 4, 2004, at BusyInternet, Accra, on November 5, 2004.
The conference process would also be a resource for the Informatics aspects of a Masters course in Information and Communications Technology directed to Ghana-like conditions developed by the Center for Information and Communication Technology of the Technical University of DenmarK
The Jubilee Year edition of the of the Mobile Ghana conference, like the first session in June 2005, would be carefully crafted to attract good quality participation from industry, public sector and academe. Our new emphasis on Knowledge Brokerage means that the conference would be very specifically engineered for long-term policy learning. The keynote speaker would be the Ghanaian icon Professor F.K.A. Allotey, Chancellor of the Allotey-Andam University College. He would speak on Harnessing the Mobile Revolution in Ghana.
The lead scientific orientation paper would be given by Professor Knud Erik Skouby, Economist and leading Regulation Specialist, Director of the Center for Information and Communication Technology and member of the core Governance team of Africa Next Knowledge Brokerage and Interaction, who has nearly twenty years close to hands-on experience of telematics and informatics issues in Ghana.
He would speak on Twenty First Century Regulation with emphasis on Ghana and Denmark. There would be presentations from an international panel of experts from four continents.
Face-to-face participation in the Ghana Mobile conference is by specific invitation only. However, the proceedings would be broadcast live on the internet

The Jubilee Year edition of the of the Mobile Ghana conference would be linked to the Fourth International Conference of the Center for Information and Community Technologies (CICT) of the Technical University of Denmark. This conference would centre on Mobile Media – www.cict.dtu.dk
