Great news for the festive season! Cell C is launching MMS (Multi Media Messaging Service) on 1 December 2004.
MMS is an exciting value added service for our clients which will greatly enhance the richness of the messaging experience. As an alternative to the immensely popular SMS service, MMS brings significant technological advances improving the length, size and content of the message. There is virtually no limit to the number of the characters that one can send with MMS. In addition, MMS messages can be personalised by adding pictures, audio and video.
As an additional service, Cell C subscribers will be able to utilise the website to create their own personalised MMS’s. They can download free content and then send and receive MMS on the website if they do not have a MMS enabled handset.
For the month of December 2004, activation of MMS and all MMS sent by Cell C subscribers will be free. From January 2005 customers will be charged a once off fee of R2.00 to activate MMS. Also in January 2005 a promotional fee of R1.00 will be charged for all MMS sent by Cell C subscribers
