Sony Ericsson shipped 26.0 million mobile phones in the fourth quarter, 61 percent more than a year earlier. Revenues rose a faster 64 percent to EUR 3.782 billion, driven by rising average selling prices and strong demand for the company’s Walkman and Cybershot ranges. Sony Ericsson’s net profit for the quarter jumped to EUR 447 million from EUR 144 million a year earlier. Demand was strong in emerging markets in Latin America and Asia-Pacific, as well as in Europe.
