Johannesburg, South Africa – Hundreds of South Africans drown every year. A lack of emergency rescuers on unsupervised beaches and public awareness of water safety contributes to these tragedies which are preventable and avoidable. In an effort to alleviate these unnecessary fatalities, Vodacom, as a responsible corporate citizen, today confirmed a sponsorship agreement with Netcare and the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI).
